The foundation walls date back to Roman Empire, from which also dates the old name of the Garda Lake , Benacus, a name still to be found in the place name Torri del Benacus. Today the castle houses are a museum worth seeing. In the picturesque little lanes of the centre life is tranquil and easy going. The harbour reaches up to the old town. With its colourful nice fishing boats becomes a peaceful and idyllic spot.
